Target group |
- Malaria, TB and other gastro – intestinal and respiratory tract infections are alarming.
- People of this area who are prone to these diseases and cannot get good medical facilities as they are in remote areas.

Immunization, Antenatal and Postnatal Care

Diagnostic
Minimum investigation facilities like Haemoglobin Test, Urine Examination for albumen, sugar and microscopic examination. Smear for Malaria can be collected for examination on the spot. Other diseases like Leprosy, Tuberculosis, Chickengunia and locally endemic diseases to be detected and referred, ECG & Ultrasonography facilities should be provided in the MMU.

Curative
Treatment for minor Ailments and geriatric case etc. appropriate referral of cases for medical specialists etc.

Counselling
The team of health staff in coordination with local community based Organization and Village Youth would do proper counselling for quick referral, regular taking of medicines, village cleanliness, garbage disposal and promote family level hygiene campaign.
Objectives of the Programme
- Extend timely and routine health service for the community residing in RIAD villages.
- Ensure 81 RIAD villages as chronic diseases free village in short term as well as in long term
- Change in mindset, perception, Attitude and Belief of the people
- Targeted and timely delivery of Preventive, and Curative drugs, diagnostic and counselling methods.
- Dedicated efforts for the 81 RIAD villages but extend emergency service to other areas as and when required.
- 24 hours and 365 days service is opened for all.

Activities |
- Mobile Medical unit consists of one M.B.B.S Doctor (Male), one M.B.B.S. Doctor (Female), two staff nurses, one lab technician.
- The team use to go to the field and educate the people regarding vaccination, personal hygiene, identifying the diseased people and recommending to P.H.C. or C.H.Cs, registering anti-natal cases, teach people on the importance of breast feeding, post-natal cares.
- The team also educate tribals on hygiene and saniation promotion; ventilation of houses, keeping the cattle away from the house, everyday cleaning of the cattle sheds
- educates them about The importance of drinking of boiled water and trimming of nails, washing of hands before going to food, using mosquito nets to prevent contagious diseases.

Activities |
- The programme was executed during 01-03-09 to 31-03-09.
- The APHRDS has used his health staffs, who are basically doctors with MBBS qualifications and assistants possessing more than decades experience in serving the tribals during the Mobile Medical Camps.
- The GCDO and APHRDS worked closely and strategically to extend the service to as many people as possible during the period.
- This programme is conducted at school campuses and focused to address issues of school going girls.
- School teachers from identified schools accompanied the team of health staff. The teachers assisted to design the school coverage plan and enabled to pass on information to students on the occasion.
- The Project Officer, ITDA and Sectoral Officers ensured proper execution of programme through visit and interaction of children of schools.
